we are gunna go to Minamata. thats my city.
I'm so glad that you guys are coming to my town.
There are really beautiful sea and mountains.
and we have hot spring. I love it.

５０年前、水俣では水俣病という公害が発生しました。
水俣の小学校や中学校では必ず水俣病について学習しなければなりません。
この前のゼミでは衝撃的な映像をご覧になったと思います。
事実を学ぶには映像を見るのが一番いいですが、
私も久しぶりにまた衝撃を受けました。
悪いのはチッソですが、現在は被害者の方々に
賠償金を払っています。でも、見えないところでは
４０歳代の人までお金をもらっています・・・
事件があったのは５０年前ですよ？でもなんで４０歳代の人まで・・・
たくさんの人が嘘をついて賠償金をもらおうとしてるのです。
このままだったらチッソが破産してしまいます。
水俣の経済を支えてきたのは、チッソでもあります。
たくさんの意見がありますが、どれが正しいのかはみんな
分かってるはずですよね。
でもーーー！！
今度皆さんが水俣にくるときには、楽しみに来てもらいたいと思ってます。
ほんとにキレイな海もあるし♪
現在の水俣は、環境都市に認定されているんですょ☆
温泉にも行きましょう♪
ゼミのときは複雑な気持ちでしたが、今は早く来てほしぃと思ってます♪

返信削除I too am really looking forward to going to Minamata again. 私もたいへん楽しみにしています。
Minamata is a beautiful place. I think that it is easy for people to get a negative image from movies and books about Minamata disease, but the town itself is a great place. 本やビデオから嫌なイメージを抱いてしまうがちかも知れませんが、私も水俣という町が大好きです。
Minamata has learned from the problem of Minamata disease and become more environmentally progressive than other cities in Japan. 水俣市の人々は水俣病の問題からさまざまのことを学んで、日本一の環境都市になってきていると思います。
I also think it is very important not to demonize Chisso, particularly the majority of the people who work for the company. チッソ、特に多くの従業員を短絡的に「悪者」にしないことも大事だと思います。
The issue about how to decide who deserves compensation is important. I hope we can study this in more detail in this class. 患者の認定の仕方や賠償金の問題について考えるのも重要ですね。これからこのテーマについてもゼミで勉強していきたいと思います。
